Since 2001, Matt’s Artistic home has been with his company, Under the Table. Under the Table is an ensemble dedicated to making original, hilarious and thoughtful physical theatre. He Co-Founded the company in Brooklyn and has worked on each of the company’s 13 shows as a performer, writer, or director. For the last eight years the company has been a trio: Matt’s working partners are Josh Matthews and Sarah Petersiel.
The company has created diverse works including Clown shows, absurd comedies, social satire in NYC public parks, and immersive plays for young audiences. Under the Table has toured in the US and Canada many times, offered workshops at numerous universities, been in creative residence at Dell’Arte International in Blue Lake, CA, and has twice collaborated with Aarhus, Denmark’s Filuren to create work for the Danish stage.
Currently, the company is performing its newest work, THIEF SOCIETY, a physical comedy about an art heist gone stupid. It has rappelling and lasers.
